At the heart of our identity in St.Cuthbert’s is the idea that we are active in the local community, engaging with local residents, amenities and services. Our life together as a worshipping community is sustained by sharing in different types of worship throughout the week, as demonstrated by some of the groups, Shalom, Open Forum and the Sunday School, who lead services from time to time. Communion services on Sundays and Wednesdays are central to our worship. Sunday school meets during the 10.30am Sunday service in term time. As well as the regular Sunday services, there is a midweek service on Wednesdays and an ecumenical service, particularly with the elderly in mind, on Thursday afternoons. Our outreach includes supporting a monthly service in two of the local nursing homes, regular contributions to a local food bank and weekly volunteering at the Verandah Tearoom in the Royal Edinburgh Hospital.
