St.Cuthbert’s is a church within the Diocese of Edinburgh of the Scottish Episcopal Church.  The Scottish Episcopal Church is a member of the Anglican Communion.

St.Cuthbert’s serves Colinton and also reaches out into neighbouring communities. It endeavours to be a community in which all are encouraged to participate in worshipping God and serving the wider community.

It welcomes those who are doubters and sceptics as well as those who are committed in faith, and has a concern for those who have been hurt by their experiences of life.

A message from our Rector at the beginning of Christmas week :

“Following the First Minister’s decision to place the whole of mainland Scotland into Level 4 restrictions from Boxing Day, the Vestry has decided to close the church for the same period.  Services will continue on YouTube and orders of service will be available on this site, as well as being sent out to the congregation.

I know this news is very disappointing for many people, as Christmas plans have had to be changed.  Throughout the pandemic, loving our neighbour has been a priority and this week, as we all look forward to Christmas, let’s remember the care and kindness that erupted at the beginning and find the strength and compassion to do it again.

Be kind, be caring and be blessed this Christmas”

Revd Nicki McNelly
