The Revd. Nicki McNelly was installed as our Rector on 6th July 2017 by the Rt Revd Dr John Armes, Bishop of Edinburgh.
Nicki studied for ministry at Cranmer Hall, St.John’s College, Durham and was ordained in 2009. Following her curacy at St.Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh Nicki was appointed Provost at St.John’s Cathedral, Oban where she remained until returning to Edinburgh to take up her post as our rector.Nicki is married to Iain, whom she followed to many places, for many years, as an army wife. This time gives her a long and varied CV with fantastic life experiences. They have two grown up daughters and one grandaughter. See more about Nicki in her First Sermon at St.Cuthberts
The Revd. Dr. Lesley Penny was ordained Deacon on Saturday 26th September at St. Mary’s Cathedral and on 10th October joined St.Cuthbert’s as their new Curate.
Lesley trained for ministry with the Scottish Episcopal Institute and comes to St Cuthbert’s from St Mungo’s, Balerno where she was involved in worship and preaching for many years. She is a vet who works for the University of Edinburgh overseeing the care and legal aspects of animals used in research. Lesley is married to Colin, also a vet, and they have two daughters, both currently at university. Owing to this they now have a spaniel in order to deal with empty nest syndrome.
Non Stipendiary Minister (NSM)
The Revd. Dr. Margaret Dineley
Margaret was ordained to the priesthood in 2015 while based at a church in Lochgelly. In April 2019 she moved to Colinton for personal reasons. By the end of August, that year, she officially became attached to St.Cuthbert’s and is delighted to be able to serve as an NSM.
Children, Families and Youth Worker
Caroline Daye works with our young people and their families. She comes with vast experience within the Scottish Episcopal Church.
