There was rather a surprise for some attending the Brew & Blether meeting on Saturday 2nd December. Instead of just tea and chat there was a pantomime as well! The church hall was filled with quite a few families and children as well as the regulars. Angela Watson, who holds dancing classes in our hall, had learned that Theatre Presto* were looking for some where to do their dress rehersal. Theatre Presto did a splendid adaptation of Peter Pan with 3 actors playing 14 different parts. They had the audience laughing and clapping and joining in with the songs and ‘look behind you’ when the crocodile approached captain hook.

Our world and our lives change at an ever faster pace, but how can the church respond to this change? Are new ways of engaging with people and being church in the 21st century possible?
If so, what might they look like? Mission Shaped Intro is a creative six session course using videos and stories to help explore mission and church life in our current context. With space for small group discussion, it is a great opportunity to come with others from your church for the most benefit, but individuals welcome too.
Facilitated by the Rev Annie Naish, Bishop’s Enabler of Mission. For more details contact Annie firstname.lastname@example.org or 0131 346 9089. There is no charge but please book via www.msi2017.brownpapertickets.com
