A consignment of 20 hats and two scarves, courtesy of our Secret Knitters, has been delivered to the Diocesan Office for the Mission to Seafarers.Given the weather we have had of late, I am sure that they will be very much appreciated.
With thanks to our wonderful Secret Knitters, another parcel of wee jackets, hats and colourful blankets has been sent to the charity Knit for Peace.
A few days after Margaret sent the parcel she got the following letter:‘Dear St.Cuthbert’s Episcopal Church
I am delighted to say that we have received your wonderful knitted donations. We look forward to delivering the knitted items, as they will undoubtedly make a big difference to those in need. Thank you for your support, we truly appreciate it.’
Margaret writes: “Thanks are due to our Band of Secret Knitters.
If you are wondering how to pass the long, dark winter nights, perhaps you would consider knitting hats or scarves for the Mission to Seafarers or little jackets for babies. There are patterns in the knitting box in the Baptistry”. A consignment of bright, cosy hats and scarves has been delivered to the Diocesan Office. As there has been a significant drop in the temperature I am sure that those sailors fortunate to receive a hat will be most grateful.
Another parcel has been sent to the charity Knit for Peace which sends knitted items to areas of the world in need of warm clothing.
