As well as tea, cake and chat the September B&B meeting had a visit from 2 Community Police Officers. They offered advice and answer questions about how to avoid Doorstep Crime. The main message is: if someone turns up at your door unannounced do not let them do any work for you however charming and persuasive they are. If you need something done go to a reputable tradesman or ask a neighbour for a recommendation.
On the first Saturday in July the Brew & Blether group hosted a special strawberry afternoon tea. It was much enjoyed by those who attended.
There was rather a surprise for some attending the Brew & Blether meeting on Saturday 2nd December. Instead of just tea and chat there was a pantomime as well! The church hall was filled with quite a few families and children as well as the regulars. Angela Watson, who holds dancing classes in our hall, had learned that Theatre Presto* were looking for some where to do their dress rehersal. Theatre Presto did a splendid adaptation of Peter Pan with 3 actors playing 14 different parts. They had the audience laughing and clapping and joining in with the songs and ‘look behind you’ when the crocodile approached captain hook.
