Westgarth Walkers

Westgarth Walkers:  It all started on the 10th February 1995 when a total of 23 people turned up for a walk along the local Water of Leith. The walks are after the morning service. Over the years we have had many walks around Scotland and up to 10 miles in an afternoon was the maximum distance. As time has passed we have adjusted our plans to meet the needs of our group and the current walks are every other month and generally start with a lunch after which a walk of up to 5 miles takes place. Some people enjoy having the lunch but according to weather conditions may leave out the walking bit. The selection of walks and planning the day is by a volunteer from within the group. This gives variety and spreads the work load. An additional activity has been week-end outings farther afield and an Annual Dinner to reflect on past achievements. A journal records many of our outings and is a real pleasure to read and see the many photographs. We aim to suit as many needs as possible, so do join us and make your wishes known.  Please contact June Bungay for more details.

Details of walks can be found on the notice boards in Church/Church Hall, in The Sign and in the Pew Notes .
